History of mountain warfare

چکیده
Mountain warfare has thousands of years history and presents numerous challenges to military operations. History proves, that this environment decreased combat strength, caused more casualties than the enemy in some operations influenced war tactics significantly. an increasing frequency due withdrawal areas for hostile forces, being home ethnic minorities, origin many water supplies a natural frontier between countries. Mountains influence all warfighting functions, but especially movement manoeuvre (mobility) force protection (health support). To overcome hardships mountain warfare, special units including support elements are mandatory, health service support.
